Vuarnet
It began in 1957 when optician and ski enthusiast Roger Pouilloux revolutionized the world of sunglasses by inventing the SKILYNX sunglass lens in his Paris workshop. These lenses protected the eyes from UV, HEV (Blue) and Infrared Light. The outstanding optics of the lenses offered superior clarity and depth perception.
It was with these sunglasses featuring the famous lenses that Jean Vuarnet would win the downhill skiing gold medal in the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley.
VUARNET is today the only brand to produce its mineral lenses in its own factory in Meaux, France.
Quality is ensured by unique know-how and continued small-scale production. One week’s work is required to craft a Vuarnet lens. Each Vuarnet lens is engraved with a discreet signature representing the Brand’s initial on a ski, which guarantees its authenticity.
