Varilux X represents the latest design in progressive lenses from Varilux. Compared to earlier designs, the Varilux X improves vision at arm’s length reducing the need to tilt your head to find focus. Transitions from near to far are improved. And feelings of off-balance are reduced or eliminated.
Varilux X is one of many progressive lenses that we offer. Ask us if Varilux X is right for you.

Tradition dictates that Europe receives the latest fashions first, followed by the United States after a sometimes excruciating delay. This year, for the first time, simultaneous with their European release, Dior has shipped their Fall collection to a select number of retailers in four US cities. We are honored to be one of the few places in the US where the Dior Fall Winter 2011 2012 collection is now exclusively available. This season’s collection includes Diorgraphix 1,2 and 3, as well as CD 3228. Dior Homme is made up of Black Tie 132s, 135s, 136s and 139.
CD 3228 is distinguished by the House of Dior’s iconic Godron decoration, the parallel fluting inspired by detailing on a Louis XVI chair in their Haute Couture Salon in Paris. Continue reading Dior Fall Winter 2011 /2012
Did you know that our UCLA location specializes in fitting glasses for kids? Meet our little friend Sofia wearing 2.5 by Eyephorics, one many brands we love for kids. 2.5’s are great because of they’re so extremely lightweight, durable, flexible, have no screws, and the lens shapes and sizes are infinitely customizable. The clear color of this frame allows Sofia’s natural beauty to shine through, but there are 34 other colors to choose from. Many thanks to Sofia’s dad for sending us this photo.
One of the newest frames to arrive in our shops is this classic-inspired design from the Dan Deutsch S/S 2011 Collection.
Although the frame has just arrived, it’s already generated a warm welcome. The large, square frame with sculpted browline, articulated bridge and refined temple makes a subtle fashion statement. Available in Tortoise/Khaki, Crystal Sand, Olive/Tortoise and Black.
Some months ago I was fortunately enough to be assisting Paul Anka in my Beverly Hills store. When the time came to pay, Anka hands me a blank check–no “Dan Deutsch,” no “Optical Outlook,” no dollar amount…nothing but an autograph. “Paul,” I say. “Can I take this and go buy a boat?” He just turns around and smiles.
All I can say is, I’m really enjoying my new boat. Thank you so much, Paul Anka!
We’re crazy about La LOOP necklaces for eyewear, and we think everyone on your holiday list deserves one this year….the perfect holiday gift. Here’s why:
They’re functional art. (A true museum piece – watch the video above for the story)
They’re the perfect gift for someone who has everything (who doesn’t lose their glasses?)
They work well for men or women. (Brad Pitt, Rod Stuart, Demi Moore and Heidi Klum all wear them.)
They come with a luxurious red satin box that will put a smile on anyone’s face.
There is one for everyone on your list. Styles range from sporty to elegant to hip and are crafted with materials ranging from leather and sterling silver to exotic corals and woods. Prices range from $29-$500+
Jewelry is easier to give than glasses (and everyone loves getting jewelry!)
You have an opportunity to meet the artist and create your own custom piece. (Want to add a sweetheart’s initials or your mother’s birthstone? Read on after the jump.)
La LOOP Trunk Show / Meet and Greet with designer Elizabeth Faraut. The entire line will be available for immediate purchase. In addition, this is a unique opportunity for you to be able to design your own custom necklace, during the event times ONLY.
