It was in January 2020 that Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing premiered the first designs from the Balmain Eyewear by Akoni collection, during Paris fashion week. Since then, the collection of frames has come to form an integral part of the house, finishing off the Balmain ensembles seen in campaign images, social-media postings and on the runway.

Today’s Balmain melds the storied heritage of a historic Parisian couture house with the bold, modern and inclusive vision of Olivier Rousteing, the house’s youthful creative director who is determined to design clothes that reflect the way his generation wants to dress today.
