The first Gernot Lindner collection was introduced in 1990. Today, the brand is known for producing frames in 925 sterling silver — a material rarely used in modern eyewear. Sterling silver has long been valued for its beauty and rarity and is non-allergenic, but it lacks the elasticity required for spectacle frames unless specially processed. Through years of development, their manufactory in Bavaria refined sterling silver so it could be used to create functional eyewear.

All Gernot Lindner frames are handmade in Germany using specialized tools and time-intensive processes carried out at every stage of production.
